DreamStage is a motion tracking technology using optical sensors and provides a unique experience for use as an installation. As a real-time motion tracking technology, seamlessly captures and tracks the movements of a user in a designated space. The user can move freely; there are no additional sensors or dots that need to be placed on the body.
The project was created at the University of Southern California using Microsoft Kinect devices and demoed at TEDxUSC. Later, DreamStage evolved as a service using upgraded sensors and new algorithms for body tracking. Clients included Aspire Live, VNTANA, and Warner Bros. studios (promoting ‘The Hobbit’).
